We engaged Leon to build our retaining wall in 2021. He quoted us $50k and his contact stated 20 days to complete. 2.5 months later our house builder was to start the house build and the wall still had not been completed.
The cut was done and the footing poured and it sat and sat eventually the side of the cut collapsed and I was charged extra for him to dig it out. The lower half of the wall was erected and poorly, it leans at the top. It wasn't even finished with no cap blocks.
I explained that they had run out of time and will have to come back after the house had been built. 2.5months should have been more than enough time given his contract stated 20 days.
After the house was built I rang Leon to come back and finish. I pointed out the flaws that needed to be fixed aswell. He then sent me a new quote more than doubling the amount that was left after I made progress payments, from the initial quote.
He has since refused to come back and finish the job, he has also not come back to repair the defects.
This is a really disappointed outcome and one that is only going to cost me more than it should have
