Tech is a very knowledgeable and honest guy. He took care of replacing my catalytic converter, and worked to find the factory part at a good price and the labor was very reasonable.

Best place to get your catalytic converter replaced! About $150 something dollars here versus $1500 at Toyota or Scher's good year down on Cherry Ave. Tech is super fast. I was only there for 40 minutes and my catalytic converter was fixed. Guys at Scher's Tire took 3 hours for an oil change.

Awesome experience! I was worried going in, but Tech kept me in the loop every step of the way. They got me right in, even advised me of a place within walking distance for a "Really good" cup of coffee. (It was yummy!) ...but that'll have to be another review. :) It turned out that I needed new brake pads and rotors (front). The cost was under $200.00 total (parts and labor). And he made sure to show me everything, and gave me a choice to do it or not. He didn't make me feel pressured at all. (Although the grinding noise that brought me there did!). He was very reasonable, friendly and got the job done in very little time. I left with a smile and a quiet car. Couldn't ask for more!

So i found this place from an add on craigslist...which can sometimes be sketchy...but was awesome in this case!

I needed to have my Cat changed in order to pass smog and received quotes as high as $1200 for the "California Gold Shield" approved place...to 250-400$ at the local places in my area. Tech was able to do it for way less than the others AND had the part i needed IN STOCK! which was great! (other places said I'd have to wait 3-5 days for them to order the part.)

Now, it may be because i happen to come on a slow Saturday morning; or it may just be how the guy treats all of his clients...but he spent more time explaining how the things work and what causes them to go wrong, than it took to get it all replaced!
***I found that to be awesome!! Especially since it's nearly impossible to find a faithful mechanic that isn't a relative or someones best-friend.***

All in all, prices were great....service was superb! and he seemed like a genuinely good person. I reccomend him to anyone having trouble with exhast systems, hell, i traveled from SFV to Long Beach taking a risk...but glad i did!

I went to get my car smog, and it failed. the smog guy told me that the cat needed to be changed. He gave me a rough estimate of what the cost would be and went to techs for a second opinion. He charged me $50 less of what the other guy wanted to charge me on an estimate. Tech told me the ins and outs of what he was doing. He has many of the parts in stock which gives him a chance to sell it cheap. The installation took less then 20 mins. I took it to the smog right after and it passed! I highly recommend this place for people who love to save $$

I had to have my Catalytic Converter on Jetta replaced to pass a smog. After calling around to so many places, I was recommended by a friend of mine to Tech's. Hearing the price of $185.74 was music to my ears. Timmons VW was quoting me $1500. I called Long Beach Mufflers, well lets say, they don't answer their phones or respond to emails. I will review their a**es later. Basically, the average price quote was $300. I'm on a budget and I was not going to fork over that much.

I finally called Tech to confirm before I went there. The owner confirmed the price. It was a go.

I went today to get that pesky CC fixed. I showed up at 9 (which is when they open) and a technician was there but apparently he can't do anything until the owner gets there at 10. I drove from Los Angeles to Long Beach therefore I was not going to leave. I went to the nearby park and chilled for 30 minutes and then came back to the shop and chilled for another 30 minutes.

The owner finally shows up and I tell him what I need. He proceeds to explain EVERY SINGLE THING he will do. The explanation took forever but he wanted to make sure I understood why he was charging so low. Since my car is a Jetta it was going to cost me $175 plus tax. If my car was a Honda or Toyota, then I would've paid $149.99 plus tax. He seemed like he knew what he saying and gave me documents to read and understand. For what he charged me, he could ramble all he wants because all I know is I'm getting a good deal.

the waiting time was an hour. He told he doesn't like to be rushed when doing work like that. But then again, who like to be rushed. I let him to do his thing. And it all worked out. He is amazing. Go to him for your catalytic converters and tires (I need a spare from him).

I could tell that Tech was a good guy over the phone. And once I met him and he performed the work I knew i went to the right place. I highly recommend this place.
I used to be a ASE Certified Mechanic years ago.. Sometimes I take my cars to shops for repairs such as mufflers, etc.. It is much easier then doing it myself.
I needed a new Cat in order to pass smog. Done deal, and very good pricing.

Just great and honest service. There is a reason people come back to Tech's... In the auto service world it is so hard to find a trustworthy shop. These guys will stay in business long because of this.

I worked in automotive for 17 years. My dad owns a gas station/repair shop and of course I did all of my own work on all my vehicles over the years. For a job like a muffler and a new tailpipe, it's easier to just let it get handled by a professional with a huge inventory and a trusty hydraulic pipe bender.

My old Landcruiser needed a new muffler and custom tail pipe, so I decided after some research online to check out Tech's.

Great service. Walked me through every step as I am pretty particular about my old Landcruiser. I tried not to bother him, gave him a lot of space, went and got lunch at Lily Bakery across the street... read some at the library next door... but they called me over right away when Tech had any questions for me on how I wanted something done on my vehicle.

He's a total professional. Moves quickly, wants the job to get done and to be right. With all the crooked shops out there, it's nice to know there's someone I can count on. I was always honest and did my best when I worked for my pop and I expect the same when I spend my hard earned money too. Give this guy your business.

To be honest I usually go to Ace, but after receiving their service and quality of work I decided to go to Techs. The man knows his stuff, really great quality work, honest and informative. The service he provides is very helpful, he'll let you know what you need to be done, give you a very decent price and even allow you to go compare it to other places. I ll be looking forward for a new exhaust there. Highly RECOMMENDED!

Received excellent service from this shop. I had a free flow muffler installed as well as my tires rebalanced there. Dealt with the owner himself, and he is a super nice and honest guy. He gave me an in depth explanation of the install, and showed me the welds he did. Got a super deal there too. It's nice to have a one stop place for my exhaust, tire, and brakes. Definitely will be going back there.
