Our goal for the Children’s Taekwondo program is to Instill the confidence and discipline needed to create the “Champions in Life”. We do this by teaching the values and disciplines of Martial Arts while supporting the values you teach at home. We must work together to create our next generation of leaders. From traditional Taekwondo to more modern self-defense styles, there is something for everyone at Palm Beach Martial Arts. If you are looking to learn self-defense moves, get in shape, or burn some calories, you must come and check out our programs.

Taekwondo is the art of self-defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art: Tae (foot), Kwon (hand), Do (art, way or way of life).

The 5 Tenets of Taekwondo and for me the basis of Taekwondo:

Courtesy (Ye Ui) Taekwon-Do students should attempt to be polite to one another and to respect others. …
Integrity (Yom Chi) …
Perseverance (In Nae) …
Self-Control (Guk Gi) …
Indomitable Spirit (Baekjul Boolgool)
These 5 Tenants are the core to the base values of Taekwondo or any Martial Art and through these values it is Our goal to help you become a Champion in Life and a true Leader
The 5 Tenants of Taekwondo are our base guidelines on how we teach and empower all our Members. Our Taekwondo Classes and events are enriched with Tradition as well as respect and discipline. We instill the values of the 5 Tenants of Taekwondo in many ways and most of them are based on the tradition of always showing respect to all. You need to Consider all these benefits of the Traditional Taekwondo Values when enrolling your child:

Fostering self-discipline
Boosting socialization skills
Encouraging physical activity
Learning to set and achieve goals
Increased self-esteem
Instilling a sense of respect
Encouraging non-violent conflict resolution
Improving listening skills
Developing teamwork skills
Improvement in other areas of life
What does “improvement in other areas of life” mean? It can mean a lot of things such as getting better grades in school, knowing how to use anti-bullying programs to prevent violence amongst peers, or simply the appreciation that comes from learning a difficult skill.

Perhaps most importantly, students learn that physical activity is a healthy way to have fun. With health problems like diabetes and obesity afflicting younger people more often, parents should take steps to help their children avoid similar issues. Children’s Taekwondo gives them a fun way to exercise, learn crucial life lessons, and develop a sense of self-reliance.
